In 2019 Grand Final and World Club Challenge winner, Willie Poching, will return to Emerald Headingley to support a new initiative from Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Rugby League Cares to help more men get active.
'Back Onside' is a new 10-week free course that will be led by Poching to encourage men to get active and make healthy lifestyle choices. The weekly sessions are designed for men who haven't exercised for a while and are looking to get fit and have fun.

Poching, who played for the Rhinos for five seasons, was part of the club's first Championship win in 32 years back in 2004 and the first ever World Club Challenge winning side in 2005. A fan favourite the New Zealander is aiming to inspire people who are looking to get fit in the new year and encourage them to sign up for the new programme and start the new year with a positive new health regime.

"I am really looking forward to being involved in this project and working with Leeds Rhinos Foundation," said Poching. "I have fond memories of my time at the Rhinos and of the fans so be part of this new initiative which will support fans is something I am proud to be part of.

"The aim of the project is to engage men who may have given up doing exercise for one reason or another. I think the profile of Leeds Rhinos is a powerful way to do that and it is great that their charity, Leeds Rhinos Foundation, and Leeds Cares can offer these opportunities to support the community by opening up avenues for people to take part in physical activity and live healthier lives.

"Many of the sessions will be based around team activities such as rugby and football so they will be really enjoyable. If your new year's resolution is to get in shape make sure you sign up for the new course and get 2019 off to the best possible start."

The 'Back Onside' course will run weekly and men can chose sessions on either Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-7.30pm in the South Stand Community room at Emerald Headingley and is eligible for all men aged over 18.

The first course starts on 29th and 31st January. To sign up email health@leedsrhinosfoundation.org
